jackfish330 grain .375"
Would anyone have use for a .375" 330 grain bonded core semi-spitzer bullet?

AtkinsonSounds good to me, so whats the deal????

jackfishRay, what do you think are the possible advantages of a 330 grain over the well travelled 300 grain? It seems to me that it might be easier to stabilize a 330 grain than a 350 grain in most .375 H&H rifles. Would a 330 grain really offer anything more than a 300 grain and for hunting which animals? A 330 grain .375" at 2400 fps would roughly duplicate a 416 Rigby in sectional density, velocity and trajectory while lacking about 900 fpe at the muzzle. Just thinkin' out loud.

jackfishIt just seems that there might be some value in replicating the sectional density and velocity of the 416 Rigby, a round known for good performance. With a 330 grain out of a .375 H&H at 2400 fps it would be similar to the 416 Rigby 400 grain round in sectional density and velocity, albeit with diminished frontal area and energy. But the penetration should be similar with similarly constructed bullets.
What do you think?
