Zig MackintoshYou need to watch this movie
Steve,
I have asked Greg to make a plan for you and the lion movie. I checked on the Hunter Proud website and couldn't find any problem with the video there, don't know why you are having that problem.
I must say that I am surprised at Sarel Van der Merwe encouraging such crap on a forum, I thought that he was pretty level headed from the stuff that I have read.

Zig MackintoshHi Dennis,
The Hunter Proud board have other plans for the movie and don't want to circulate it on the internet just yet, but I shall keep you informed if things change. Maybe Greg can make a plan to send you a DVD?

Use Enough GunGreat DVD!

Having hunted the Bubye I really enjoyed it and recognized many people and places. Hopefully it will help in the fight against up listing the lion.

joesterVery honest, well done documentary! I had the pleasure of spending a few days with Paul while hunting the Bubye last summer. My wife & I rode with him on an attempt to re-dart a lioness to remove its collar. Jolly good time.
For you LEOPARD enthusiasts, Paul has a colleague, a fellow Rhodes Scholar from Oxford University and native Zimbabwean, who is doing his PhD research on Mr. Spots. Another fine fellow.

SteveGlThanks, Zig. That'd be great if it works out (with the lion movie).
Sarel Van der Merwe seems only dimly aware of the benefits of trophy hunting and is calling for a ban on all hunting in Africa based only on the fact that there's been some questionable behavior or illegal activity on the part of a few lion-hunting outfitters (which I expect is probably true). Anyway, he's now aligning himself with the animal-rights nuts and I expect that will eventually work against him.

Zig MackintoshDoes anyone else, who has watched this movie, have any comments? Feedback would be greatly appreciated. US Fish and Wildlife service is having a one day workshop in Arlington, Virginia on June 26 to discuss the conservation status of the African lion. Anyone with any info that may help the cause please let me know and I will pass it on to John Jackson at Conservation Force.
SteveGI, did Greg send you a copy of the whole movie?

I don't think USF&W gives a whit about the lion. All they care about is keeping PETA/HSUS and other antis happy and voting for Obamavitch. They refuse to consider the fact that, like the polar bear, bannning import of legally taken trophies into the US does not decrease the hunting of these trophies. Europeans and Asians simply fill the void created when US citizens no longer participate. A prime example of cutting your nose off to spite your face or cowtowing to the antis.
Maybe we should start a movement to make USF&W serve the hunters instead by denying them access to our Pittman Robertson dollars.

Nope. But if I do get a copy I may be able to arrange a University viewing.
