Don_GMovies and pics for Ed
I posted a while back about video cams to record my hunt for Ed, a friend of mine with ALS. I just heard he can no longer move either hand, so he is trapped in there with a perfectly functioning brain. They are setting him up with a retinal scanner to blink connections. Effectively he cannot answer emails it is so slow.
Judge G gave me the idea of asking here for tapes and pictures for this once avid hunter. (Judge, I got the CD, thanks.)
I will act as clearing house for Ed. He lives in the boonies so has no bandwidth on his connection, so links don't work. Please PM me with subject line "ED" if you want to send him CDs/DVDs of hunting pics and vids.
I have a lot of balls in the air right now with family emergencies, so please forgive me if I am slow responding.
Thanks for your help.

BiebsDon, you're a good man. Must be heartbreaking to see a close fiend deteriorate over time. I'm sure he appreciates your kindness.

Don_GNope, I am easily as much a self-centered ass as the next guy.
Ed was always the standout.

Aspen Hill AdventuresI lost an uncle and my aunt lost a good husband to that disease. It is relentless, unfair and cruel.

Don_GYep, it is unfair. Ed is one of the most selfless men I've ever known.

Don_GSorry to hear about your friend. Ed is liable to live for many years with a perfectly functioning brain trapped in a completely non-functioning body.
IMHOP, sometimes it's better to go...
Thanks to all who've PMed me for Ed.

Bill/OregonDon, I'm so sorry for your friend's predicament. I just want to say he is blessed to have you as a friend.

Don_GThanks for all who have PM'ed me.
Many are volunteering older VHS tapes, which are very welcome.
I think Ed would really enjoy having CD's of your hunting photos as well. They need not be highly finished commercial videos. The personal touch is probably what he is missing.
Thanks,

Just got back from visiting Ed. His brother has set up a VHS player for him, and he's seen all the vids. He was able to talk for a bit, and wanted to thank you all for the tapes/DVDs and CDs.
It's tough to see him.

bwanamrmDon,
PM me your address And I will clean out my closets!
On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
