Very Nice work. But for some reason (maybe my eyes are getting bad) the wood looks a little bit low on the metal. Just seems like there should be a little bit more wood there someplace.

Will, I just knew that would get your attention.

In retrospect the .416 Rem Mag would look the same and be a lot more practical.....further a .416 Taylor would be even better because of the actions available and the "glass" or composite stocks are also more practical because there are times we just need to push through brush and this gun don't want to do that....it begs for being pampered for sure.

We're all different and we all want something that fits our own style and this is why I make my own guns.

So far it's fired only three rounds and that was to verify that it was safe after chambering. Then it's only fired the 350 grain bullets and the recoil is very polite. I just know when I finally get it to the range for some real load developement things will change. I'm concerned a little with the grain pattern in the pistol grip area and just decided to risk that.
I'll post some photos of the groups later.....
This is the only rifle in my cabinet without a scope and it's going to stay that way. It's a 100 yard gun and I hope it gets it's chance to pop Buff in a year or so. The back up rifle is a P-17 (Winchester) .375 H&H and that has a scope for the longer range shooting if needed.

RIP....I intend to load to 2,400'/sec or until it kicks the bejabbers out of my shoulder.....whichever comes first.....actually I'd be happy with 2,200'/sec in the 23" barrel
