A Big Leopard
Here's a bruiser caught on a game camera at a property one of my RSA guys hunts in northern Limpopo. No one got this leopard last year, he's still out there!

I am betting this is the same leopard that killed a few young impala rams on the property the last time I was there.

This pic has had the lighting levels adjusted, look at the width of his chest.

Looks like a heavy cat to me. What do you all think?

IMO getting on to a leopard like that is the ultimate african hunt

Safe to say this cat gets the toad of the day award?

I'll see if there are more photos of him. He was heard and seen on bait but never presented a shot. Guess that's why he is so big.

Looks like he could fit a whole impala inside of him. Big Spots.

Ann:

I can second that is a huge leopard. I was with the outfitter Rod when he came back in during lunch with the pics from the trail cam. Needless to say he was excited as was my buddy Robbie who had a highly coveted leopard tag.

Robbie and the PH Rod Cockerill hunted for that cat non stop for 10 days. At the end, they both looked like zombies but alas the cat eluded them. He ate quite well from the baits we had hung. The place is crazy with leopards and that big boy is still out there.

FYI I have pics of him in my hunting report from this year.

Hutty,

Please post your pics of him! I know it is the same leopard from when I was on that property with Rod in 2005. That is one smart leopard.

Here are two shots of him I had in photobucket. I have more on a CD at home. One day he just about ate an entire red hartebeest that we had hung for bait. He was a brazen and smart cat, feeding during different times of the day. They caught the ass end of him one day walking away from the bait around noon when they went to check the bait. He just strolled away as calm as could be.

You sure he's not a JAGUAR. A tremendous cat.
Thanks for sharing

Hutty,

That other photo really shows off the broad chest this animal has. What a trophy! Rod believes he will die of old age though. But that was what everyone said about that big kudu until I arrowed him. Sometimes even the big boys make a mistake.

Looks like a spotted bull dog.

We seldom get to choose
But I've seen them go both ways
And I would rather go out in a blaze of glory
Than to slowly rot away!
