Ray, did´nt you mention going for an eye op a month or so ago? How did it go? Did it have anything to do with recoil and detached retinas etc?
Dont mean to be nosey.

Atkinsonboet,
No, I had cataracs removed, went well indeed, my vision is now back to 20-20..I can't believe how well it worked, and didn't even realize that my cataracs were that bad..It happens so slow you don't realize whats happening and you adjust to it up to a point, but when they fix it, wow!...

JPennRay,
Glad to hear it went so well for you, especially as I have to have both eyes done. One in Oct., other in Novy, Doc swears I will have the results you describe.
Did you have to lay off shooting, at least rifles with recoil in the 30-06 range up, for a while? That is my Doc's advice, from first surgery until a month or so after second.

kududeRay,
I am glad to know that things went smoothly. Which of the several operations available did you have? I have cataracts in both eyes also, and am looking at this surgery. Kudude

AtkinsonI had a surgical operation on both eyes about 3 weeks apart..It was simple and painless, easier than getting a haircut..I didn't shoot for about a month, didn't even think about it to tell you the truth..I didn't rope either, but I did everything else and was never laid up in bed...It's just that it's hard to do things with a patch over one eye until you get used to it like Rooster Cogburn, but by then the patch was off and both eyes were awesome..I could see a tick on a deer at 1000 yards!! well almost! Drove my wife nuts reading road signs before she could even see them!

OldsargeOff to other sites and other interests. Then I went to the Arctic for muskox and wondered why I hadn't been here for a while.
The answer? I had a major computer infestation and never got around to re-bookmarking AR! Another sign of aging, that's what it is.

muygrandeGood for you Ray.
Will be doing the same soon. Just back from a boat/brown bear hunt and everyone spotted bears (80+) from the skiffs but zero, nada , zip from my 64 year old eyes!
