www.fffsafaris.co.za A well camoed stick bug facing left, I think. But if you hadn't asked the Q I wouldn't have looked twice at the "debris" laying about.

CrazyhorseconsultingI go along with the bug idea.
Looks like a cousin to the "Walking Stick" insects we have here in Texas just more camoflaged.

MuletrainMouse tracks heading from south to north along a dirt track made about three hours before the photo was taken. The mouse has an injured toe on the back left foot. Should be easy to catch up to it before mid-day.

Dagga BoyI was going to say debris. But looking again I think they're right about the stick insect.
If we had camo like that we'd kill whatever we wanted.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

MARK H. YOUNGI think a stick insect also but I've never seen one that color. I assume they change color like a chameleon? Ones I've seen have been red or the color of the dry grass.

jetdrvrI initially thought "snare" but not being a stick bug kinda guy, you may be right on that. I just saw Chuck with Christie Brinkley and he's in better shape than that stick bug, if that's what it is...
