cal pappas(the new) African Hunter magazine
Gents:
I received the latest issue of the African Hunter magazine and the new look is impressive to say the least. Twice the pages and all glossy paper and color. Great articles and just enough advertising. I have been subscribing since issue 1 and have the complete set, have followed the publication through its ups and downs, trials and tribulations, and it seems the AH is on top again. My Cal on Doubles column is still there as is the occasional article I write (Mark Sullivan, part II), an excellent piece by Steve Ahrenberg, a tribute to Ian Gibson, and many others.
What I like about the AH (and have always liked) is Ant Williams has never sold his soul (or the soul of the magazine) to the advertising dollar and political correctness.
I would urge all of you gents to support the magazine with a subscription or a gift sub. to a mate. And it's about time manny of the PHs and outfitters/agents who have who have enjoyed their stories published therein to step up and take out some advertising.
Again, the new look is absolutely superb and the magazine can only reach new heights. An explanation of the status of the AH that will answer any questions you may have is found in the editor's page. Congratulations, Anthony, on a big step in the right direction. The hunting world needs the AH to survive.
Cal

Reddy, haven't seen it on sale individually in the states. You can subscribe via their website. Fantastic magazine. I believe a script was $30 for the year and another $20 for shipping from Zim to the US (CT at least).
