Ron,

New Zealand reallly is a hunters paradise and from what I have read the hunting can be really easy to very difficult.

I am guessing the main draw back of fenced hunts over there would be that the enclosures would be relatively small ie around 2000 to 3000 acres.

The UK offers some decent Reds too. The ones in Scotland on the Hill tend to be the smallest, but the stalking itself is something else. The best way to describe the terrain might be hilly or mountainous tundra. Down in southern England the Reds are generally twice the size of Scotland with the best coming from areas wherethey have access to both woodland and farmland.

We also have another 5 species of deer to stalk as well!

For more general info on stalking in the UK take a look at Http://www.deer-uk.com

With the cheap flights from the States, it would actually be quite attractive proposition in many ways.

Regards,

Pete
