Which Tuffpak?
Tuffpak owners - If you were buying a new one today would you get the standard model 1049 or the slightly larger model 1250? I think I would rather pay for an overweight bag and have more padding for the rifles and room for more gear than take a chance with less cushion. Your thoughts?

I would recommend the standard size. With 2 long guns, and the required padding you are crowding the 50lb limit.

Before the weight limits were reduced my TP had 70lbs in it.

I have the larger model since I sometimes carry a compound bow with me to Africa. The bow will not fit in the "standard" case. With the larger case I can fit two rifles, or one rifle and one bow, padded cases, boots, jacket, 1st aid kit and a few other things and still make the 50# weight limit. Works for me.

Mine is also the standard size, with NON-TSA locks of course!
