This is a substantial Mountain Reedbuck from one of our free range areas. Noticed the stretched, smooth appearance around the basses. This is what we refer to as secondary growth. Our Professional Hunters take the time to look at these small details while stalking with the help of a quality spotting scope. These are the minor details that we believe in, in the pursuit of sustainable utilization. When you pay for a Professional Hunter, that is exactly what you should be getting.

After spotting this ram flashing into the thick stuff, it meant the waiting game would be the order of the day. After finding some height with a good vantage point overlooking the little nook where he was last seen, PH Nick and our hunter got comfortable for a good few hours. As they started descending to try and get a better look , the radio cracked from tracker Themba up above that the ram had appeared with two ewes. Some ground was made in double time with a nice prone position shot to bag this sensational old Bushbuck ram.

Scouting for the upcoming season never stops. We always want to be one step ahead.
Who can identify this animal?

Big Blesbuck on a wet morning in one of our free range areas. Blesbuck are one of those that can go either way. Either they are like small stock or they are wild like Vaal Rhebuck. Where they can see far, they like to keep their distance.

The hounds did well here in bumping this nice Caracal. This hunt was late in the season where conditions already started to dry up which makes it really tough for the hounds. You just need the conditions overnight for one day to create some moisture and you will be off to the races. (Excuse the pun.)

Managed to catch this Nyala bull out feeding late in the afternoon. Comments? Leave him or do you think he makes the cut?
