I am posting this as a favor for Buzz Charlton, and have no vested interest or knowledge of the hunt including additional costs beyond what's posted here. Buzz said he had a cancellation (the hunter just broke his leg skiing, and Buzz is refunding the entire deposit). The hunt is as follows as it was relayed to me by Buzz:

14-Days at $600/Day
The hunter can shoot (5) cow elephants at $1800/each
It is in Big-5's area in Chewore North
The trophies are not exportable, it is for the experience only
Other game is available on quota and can be hunted

The charter setup by Buzz to Chewore North is, I believe, between $1200-$1400 round trip. The standard trophy fees are on Buzz's website at Trophy Fees but please verify with him cost and availability.

Buzz said his email provider in Zim has been having problems lately so he is not getting all the mail sent to him, but here's his address: buzzcharlton@zol.co.zw

If anybody is interested, I'd suggest sending him an email. If you want, you can fwd me a copy and I'll make sure to verify that he got it when we talk in a few weeks. Buzz is traveling to Scotland now, and is to be back home in Zim in two weeks (phone is Tel 001 263 4 870149).

Personally, it sounds like a great hunt, in one of the best areas in Zim, with one of the best young elephant hunters out there. He of course has trophy bull elephant hunts available also.

I'm not sure I'd want to shot 5 Elephants but I damn sure wish I could afford an elephant hunt this year and this sounds like a heck of a deal.

Nothing to add. Buzz and his team is really the best for elephant hunting you can find, Especially for ele cow.

I scheduled this same hunt with Buzz for next year - wish I could go with him this year too. Buzz has a stellar reputation with everyone who knows him, and he hunts smart, so he can even get elephants for guys who are not up to intense walking.

I've hunted cow elephant with Buzz in the Chewore area and it was a fantastic experience. Buzz is the best!

N'gagi and I will be hunting this area (with Big 5) in August 2004 for buffalo/plainsgame. I also hunted this area in October 2001 for buffalo (got a 41" buff). We bumped into elephants multiple times every day. The place is loaded with them. Also, if this hunt has you staying in the Big 5 camp, you are in for a treat. Sounds like a great hunt.
