Northern Operations Africa- Ethiopia
We would like to announce a very successful start to Northern Operations Africa- Ethiopia!!!! In the past month, with the official onset of the company, we have taken great trophies, throughout the first two hunts in Ethiopia 2010 Season. With our first client, Mr. Edward Dysart from Missouri, hunting with PH Dave Rademeyer and assisted by Mr. Dysart's longtime friend, Fred Rademeyer, taking a 39 2/8" MT. Nyala on the 6th day in Sorroro in the Ahmar Mountains. This Nyala will rank 10th in SCI record books. Mr. Dysart also took an incredible Sommerings Gazelle and massive dark golden Ethiopian Leopard.

Our second client, Mr. Matt Muns from Texas, hunting with PH Cliff Walker, shot his MT. Nyala on the 4th day in Din-Din in the Mt. Gugu Region, measuring 38 2/8". Both clients also took Danakil species in the desert. You can see a full report on Mr. Muns hunt on www.huntingreport.com.

Also, Both clients taking exceptional Meneliks and Abyssinian Bushbucks. Not only have we taken great trophies to start the season, but we are also working with a team to further develop our areas, and to cater for only the best. Along with development, we have established programs to work together to further implement conservations, improving our areas, and allowing us to continue to increase our success throughout our years of operations!!!

We now have 3 excellent Mountain Nyala areas: Sorroro, Din-Din and Shadem. These three areas together takes our total quota to 7 Mt. Nyala/season. Our patience, judgement, and ability to turn down immature bulls, has been precise and has paid off. Since our development program, that we have been involved in for the last 3 years, We have NOT taken a MT. Nyala under 35".

We are very proud and enthusiastic to stand by such results, as we strive in each hunt, only for the best!!!! We look forward to bringing more of these trophies into your homes and Trophy rooms, in the short or long term future!!!!

Yellowstone,
Thanks for your comment. Below is a picture of the leopard we recently shot in Ethiopia, unfortunately, US citizens cannot import these leopards to the US. Which is a shame. The leopard in these mountains are incredible and plentiful. On this particular occasion, we had 3 leopard on the bait at the same time. it was a second day and didnt even have to build a blind. Just walked up to the bait tree and shot him 50yards. While we were hunting Mt. Nyala we saw 2 male leopards that were atleast 20lbs heavier than the one we shot. Mr. Dysart liked the dark coat, and chose this one. I am guessing this leopard went 160-170lbs.

Dave,

Welcome to the forum. I get an idea we met in the Seacliff a couple of years ago? - I've also shared a few beers with your old man a time or two.

If any of you guys out there are thinking of hunting with this outfit I can tell you that you'll be in very good hands.

Thanks for posting the leopard photo. Like the nyala, he is impressive. What a beautiful animal. I didn't appreciate until just recently how variable leopard coloration can be.

Maybe import restrictions will change at some future. Ethiopia always conjures up images of Indiana Jones for me and I really enjoyed Fred Duckworth's "A Far From Ordinary Life."

Wishing the best success up north.

INCREDIBLE NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dave just started his 3rd MT. Nyala Safari for the Season, yesterday. THIS MORNING, the first morning of the safari at 615 am, our client shot his NYALA!!! Another trophy book Nyala, with The left horn measuring 39 6/8" and the right 38 6/8". I do not have the official measurements of the basis, but apparently it will have a higher total score than our recent clients!!!!! this is truly AMAZING!!!! I will post pictures as soon as i receive them.

Hunters, our last minute deal for this Mt. Nyala safari still stands, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. (please see our post in offered hunts section.

Happy Hunting!!!!

Maria Rademeyer

Any chance you can re-post that leopard photo? It looks like a beautiful cat (sort of jaguar-like), but the photo is halfway cut off.

Do you ever see any melanistic (black) cats in your area?
