I know many of you might stay away from hunting whenever a break comes just to get a change of scenery, but many of you also decide to hunt for yourself during a break. I am curious what it is like using someone else as a PH for your personal African hunting? Is it more of a collaborative effort? What if you feel the PH is not up to speed?

Along the same lines, what about hunting in other parts of the world? Obviously, there are different animals with different sizes and tendencies over varied terrain. How do you select these hunts? At the shows?

What about when you’ve guided another PH?

I would imagine picking a professional hunter to hunt with is immaterial if you are just a normal hunter or a professional.

You would pick the best one you imagine will give you the hunt you wish to have.

The most important fact should that whoever you choose to hunt with, is honest and professional enough to obtain the necessary license to operate in that country.

You would avoid any outfitter who makes a habit of advertising illegal hunts!

I understand Mark Sullivan is a favorite of many PHs.

Saeed, I posted without thinking about Mark Sullivan. I revert back to my original questions for the PHs. For example, I know many hunt outside of their native countries and in the US during the shows. I just wanted to know about the interaction between PHs/guides and other PHs/guides in unfamiliar territory.

As a PH with a split personality, I don't need the help of another PH. Heck, I argue with myself often enough anyway, but "we" normally do alright.......the two of me.
