Just a quick positive note about my experience working with Mark Young. My wife and I went on our first safari and booked our hunt with Mark. I found Mark, Sadie, and Jamie to be excellent to work with. Nearly every time we corresponded he would wrap it up by saying, "please ask any question that comes to mind." He wanted to answer all my questions no matter how big or small." I took him up on that offer many times. In every instance he seemed pleased to answer the questions. He seems like one of those people who love what they do. I could tell he genuinely loved African hunting and had a high commitment to customer service. Most importantly he helped us book a great hunt with Mokore Outfitters and the Duckworths in Zimbabwe. I see Mark post on here a lot and I thought it would be worth a quick mention of how much I appreciated working with him and his team. I will post a hunt report in the appropriate forum.

BlacktailerMy experience has been great also. So many times when going to a new area random questions come up about accommodations or what to pack. Typically when I would send Mark an email with yet another question the phone would ring 2 minutes later and he would be calling with the answer.

sdirksAnother hat's off to Mark and Co. I have booked two hunts with him, both with Mokore. The fist was five years ago. I had such a great time that I booked one this year for my son. I would not hesitate a second to recommend Mark to anyone.

Gale JohnsonMy brother and I where finishing up our 1st Safari when the OP arrived in camp to start his trip. We had joined another one of Mark's client's from Vegas who was there on a 15 day hunt. I think I can say a great time was had by all even though I haven't talked to Steve since we left Zim. Mark has treated us well in every respect.

You could have booked the hunt directly with Barry or Neal Duckworth without having an 11 page booking agent contract to deal with!
I've spoken with Neal personally in Dallas at DSC. He's an honest straight up guy and you can't go wrong with Mokore. So why add in a booking agent with an 11 page contract as an intermediary that's going to make 10 - 15% off your ass? The more hands in the pot the more chance something will go wrong!

D. NelsonMark is always helpful and very informed. He is always wiling to share his experience here on AR whether you book with him or not. I always benefit from his posts.
I have booked 1 hunt through Mark and wouldn't hesitate to book with him again.

I can assure you no self respecting outfitter or professional hunter will give you a 15% discount just because you are booking with him.
Those who do will be cutting their own throats.
I have personally asked a number of PHs, and not a single one has said he gives any discount to anyone booking directly with them, instead of through a booking agent.
One might get a discount for some specific reason, and that discount would also be offered through a booking agent too.
We actually have had idiots here who thought they could do just as you suggested - Carmelo comes to mind.
He went as far as putting up his own web site, he stole photos off AR, and posted them on his site.
He was so disillusioned he set up his own forum, where he made up several IDs for himself, and started a very busy discussion - just with himself.
Why don't you ask ANY professional hunter to post here that he does offer a 15% discount if someone books directly with him??

Heym 450/400I've never booked with Mr. Young but I have spent a few occasions talking with him at SCI about various hunts. He was always polite and seemed genuine in his interest in finding the right hunt for me.
Unfortunate that people like Echo have to take cheap shots at people they don't know and subjects they clearly have little knowledge of.
