SBTEast Cape Sable
A couple who are friends are going to the East Cape on a safari for the unique East Cape species. They've asked my wife and I to accompany them. Normally it would be out of the question, but if my wife could hunt her sable there instead of on the leopared hunt I'm trying to negotiate for 2012, it may make things work out well.
So, my question is, what should my target price be for a sable trophy fee in the East Cape?

safari-lawyerSit down before you hear the price.
I'd be really surprised if it was less than $7500. I'd not really be shocked if it was $10k.
Scott: Hold out for what you really want. You'll find your leopard & sable in Zim.

retreeverScott, I personally know a outfitter ph to the north who has sable. But long way from the eastern cape, Limpopo.

Pretty spot on here. I've seen them anywhere between $9,500 and $13,000 in RSA, with the higher price being in the Eastern Cape. Zim and Mozambique have them fairly cheap, but the Sable bulls of the Kafue in Zambia are tops as far as size goes.

TrademarkTexanSable's going to be ~$10k just about anywhere unless you hunt somewhere that will let you hunt them as strictly "add-on" with no additional days or daily rates required. Those deals are hard to find.

Use Enough GunArjun Ready has a sable hunt listed in Discount Hunts. He said you can expect a sable of between 40-42". Check it out, it might fit the bill for you.
