bobcDumb narrators on TV safari shows
Now that I'm recording more stuff on my DVR, I'm hearing these gems:
Quest for the One: hunter and PH have double rifles in cases going out for elephant: "Hunters are carrying their cherished SHOTGUNS"
Stealth cam Adventures:
Narrator mispronounces 'eland' and says they can reach up to 600 pounds!
You wonder if these programs have editors of if anybody who knows anything would preview before airing to find these goofs.

Phoenixdawgthat is funny since an eland can exceed 2000 lbs

NavalukI think you missed the more retarded statements available.
An eland can in fact reach 600 pounds as pointed out.
Hunting dangerous game or in a dangerous game area with both the PH and client packing cased guns is the truely retarded statement.

Charles_HelmI think he was laughing at the "up to 600 pounds" as they will easily exceed that.

Dall85Kind of reminds me of Jimmy Carter's Sec of Education when said on a morning TV show: "Are you aware that 1/2 of the students today read below average?" It is a true statement, but borders so close to, "to stupid to be alive"!

buffybrAnother animal whose name is almost always butchered is the Nyala.
I watched one show where the hunter/host even asked the PH for the correct pronunciation of "Nyala". It was like the lesson went in one ear and out the other, and didn't slow down going through. The rest of the show, both the hunter and the narrator spoke their own version of "Nyala".

We have heard it many times here, that some PHs prefer the client to have his rifle unloaded until he is ready to shoot!?

Whenever we are hunting, the rifle is loaded and put on safety as soon as we leave the truck.
I also remember some crazy comments made on some of the commercially made hunting DVDs.
I think it adds a bit of unwanted humor to them

f course, one can go to the other extreme, and do like we do.
We do not add any voice overs to our hunting videos. One hears everything, warts and all!
This seems to work quite well, as many of you who see these videos write and says it makes them feel as if they were there with us.
And that is wat a hunting show or video should be.

100% - that is exactly what a hunting video should be, as it happens....
