Hello Guys & Girls
Wenhttp://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=8272&l=e77b3&id=653264283
Went pig hunting on Saturday, instead of joining the BASA shoot in Pretoria,
I think we had a bit more fun ,
We do it either walk and stalk on foot in the Corn fields or with Hounds, I must say I prefer walk and stalk
Much more exciting, but oh my when that blue tick yodels it sends shivers up my spine,
The photo with the 13 pigs was on saturday, we shot another one about a hour later as well
14 pigs from 5 - 10 , bugger any paper shoots, I prefer doing the hunting than tlaking about it

D. NelsonKwan;
I'm quite envious as Bushpig has been one of the critters that has eluded me.
Congrats... D. Nelson

KwanHi there
Thanks for posting the picture, I just am too geriatric with thee things.
Yip we had a good shoot, the singles and triples were hunts, when you shoot 14 it is a shoot,
The pigs were already nailing the corn big time, we got chap with dogs and the end was 14 pigs,
Thanks

Safari-Huntkwan,
Did you really have to shoot all 14 of them I really wouldnt mind if you shot 5-6 that would of made sure that the sounder would have stayed away from the fields/crops.
There is a reason why you struggle to find good warthogs in certain areas and same will go for the bushpigs if it goes on like this.
Just my 2 cents.
Frederik Cocquyt
I always try to use enough gun but then sometimes a brainshot works just as good.

KwanNo Frederik, We did not shoot the whole sounder of pigs, we did leave 4 of the group, as this was a crop damaging prevention the idea was too really cull them down,
We only hunted one block, we have another 6 groups of pigs that we know of that I did not even touch, as those I hunt on foot in the full moon.
