BoghossianWow, this is good news. This kind of event can create a trend among the youth of a country if properly organised. UAE may turn out a long line of crackshots...

CanuckThe 144 score was in trap, and the winner in that event shot 149. His gold medal was in double trap, and his score was 189, which ties the Olympic Record set in Sydney four years ago.

raamwI saw his winning score was 144 / 49, out of couriousity what is a perfect score or the best one ever shot in the olympics

Michael RobinsonJust thought I'd let everyone know that Kim Rhode of the USA won the Gold Medal today in women's double trap.
I also heard that this is the first and last Olympics in which the double trapshooting event will be featured. Seems a shame. I wonder why?

HunterJimKim is a great young lady, and she won the gold in Atlanta in '96. She is a member of our SCI Chapter, and we did a fund raiser for her as well as some cash contributions.
I didn't know about the demise of trap doubles, but the "no guns" people are killing gun sports whenever the chance appears.
I just watched the San Diego local NBC and national news, no mention of Kim's medal.
Bah, humbug.
