Outfitters in zim, SA, and Namibia
Is there any websites that list registered or legal outfitters legal to operate in the respective countries and/or provinces?

Not referring to PHs but the actual Outfitters.

Thanks.

Hi John

In Namibia, the best would be to contact Namibian Tourism board with the company's name (or in the case of a guest farm or hunting farm, that name), and they will look it up for you. Here is their email adress:
info@namibiatourism.com.na
You can also phone them on +264 61 290 6000.
Alternatively, phone Ministry of Environment and Tourism, on +264 61 284 2111, and enquire there.

NAPHA's website have all the PH's.

John, I have just phoned both, NTB could not help me with a list, they where willing to check companies on an individual basis. I spoke to Madelein at the permit office at MET (+264 61 284 2541), and she told me that if I fax her a motivation what one want to do with it, they will consider sending you such a list. I think it would be a good idea if one of the website forum owners fax such a letter, and publish this data on a forum.

In SA there is no website I am aware of that will list this info. Phasa will only list those who are members, and a lot are not.
The only way to check whether they are licenced in the various provinces is to ask for proof - a copy of the outfitter licence. Trying to get the info from the various provincial authorities I think would be a nightmare.
Ganyana would be able to advise on the zim side.

There is a great publication put our each year entitled "African Hunting Directory". (www.africanhuntingdirectory.com) I believe the company that publishes the "African Sporting Gazette" publishes it. They were being handed out everywhere at the SCI Reno show. Excellent, one-stop source for all things african hunting.

Also, there is another pub entitled, "Huntinamibia" (spelled exactly as I have it here, published by Venture Publications, Windhoek, Namibia. (www.huntnamibia.com.na. email: tnn@iafrica.com.na) This is excellent for those interested in Namibia. It, too, was being passed out throughout the convention.

Good Hunting.......Tom

While at the Dallas show, the Namibian tourism people were there and pretty helpful. They did not badmouth any outfitter, but when asked about a specific person, they did provide good information. This helped my partner and I narrow our choices.
