Minimum cartridge for effective Cape Buffalo hunting?
What do you believe is the minimum cartridge and barrel (or gun type) needed for effective killing of cape buffalo?

9.3x62 or 375H&H. Bigger is better, imo.

I get a sense that the .375 H&H is to Africa what the 30-06 is to North America - fair?

I did it with a 9,3X74R, but wouldn't choose to try duplicating it again. Everything went right. I just "felt" under-gunned. I have opted for a 375 Ruger for taking buffalo this Sept.
