JudgeGCocktails in Dallas
As in the past, I will be hosting two cocktail hours in Dallas during the Dallas Safari Club grand event. Both will begin at 5:00 p.m. and continue until we go eat or fall down. They'll be both Friday and Saturday.
If you are going to the dinners/auctions, more power to you and thanks for supporting DSC! Just stop by before you put on your tuxedo. In any event, I plan to provide the following as my "contributions":
Single malt scotch.... two bottles.. We'll get more if necessary!
Sour mash bourbon... one bottle enough?.. Jack Black o.k.?
Gin.... Whatever Ann drinks so she'll come!
Bitters for "pink gin"
Tonic.. any brand important?
Bottled Water
Vodka (one bottle... good Russian? You name it, if the store has it)... need O.J.?
Olives
Cokes and diet Coke
Budweiser (a case) Open to suggestions, but real men don't drink "lite".
Mixed nuts
Taco chips and salsa
A fair red wine
A fair white wine
Cups... Can't afford glasses, my friends.. to many last year were hurled in the fireplace after toasts to the U.A.E

Rusty or somebody is bringing a portable DVD player and I ask those coming to bring a DVD of their hunts/advertising/etc.
Napkins
Puke bags
V.O. or Crown (one bottle?)
Plenty of ice
A young and naked Thai waitress

Videos of Saeed's hunts to include a very special exorcism of Ray Atkinson that has yet to be revealed!
My video... poor quality, but I'm proud of it
Sprite or 7-up
Irish Whiskey....if requested herein???
What I'm really asking is for those who plan to come to let me know what they'd like to have... or, better yet, what they will bring to make this special.
Anyone want to commit to bring biltong or jerky... maybe a little sausage, cheese and crackers?... Any suggestions or offers to provide your favorites?
Of course, wives and children are welcome. Regardless of what one might imagine, we behaved somewhat last year and the better sex had a good time, too! I forget who brought the "trophy" wife and devestating daughter, albeit a wife of 25 years and a sweetheart from highschool, but please grace us again with their beauty! Nice ladies... you who were there remember their good looks and humor.
Since traveling with so much booze is impossible, I plan to get the taxi guy to stop at a quality liquor store on the way from the airport.. any suggestions of one one the way? ... all that being my treat.. kinda a thanks to Saeed, DRG and crew for what they do (in absentina, of course), but in His Excellentcy's Honor, and I could do no less, considering I'd never be such an safariphile without his generocity in hosting the site). Semper Fi, Saeed!
So.. Anyone want to help and let us enjoy your favorite libation or snacks? Post below your intentions, please. Also, remember that we will take Ray out for his birthday one evening. Right now it's scheduled for Saturday night, but with his advancing age, weak heart, failing kidneys and pending cruelty to animals charge, this is subject to change.
I'll be sure to be in the suite at the Marriot Suites Mart Center about 4:30 on Friday and Saturday afternoons to get stuff set up and greet those who want to bring something.. so come and have a warm up before the others get there... If you join me, I'll tell you the true story of Ray breaking into my dog kennel. Any questions once you get to Dallas, just go by Ray's booth and I'll get back with you.
Last year was a hoot, both Friday and Saturday evenings. Get your sorry butts there and lets have some fun.
Come and enjoy, bringing stuff or not. It's an AR tradition!
Whatever brochures the booking agents and PH's want to give me, I'll put out for consideration, etc. I'll have some DVD's and CDs to show and if you have one, bring it.
I think Ray, Rich Elliot, Pierr'e von Tonder, Teddy Roosevelt, Brent Hein, Ann Horsman, Osama bin Laden and John Kerry have committed to come. Maybe even Edmond and Charlie D. from France, too.. Did I mention Michael Jackson...
Only rules.. Not discussion of religion or politics.. Just rifles, PH's, various concessions, pretty women and dogs may be discussed.... oh, yeah! and where we'll eat... and what's the best single malt...

mhoYou guys make us non-attenders very jealous. The only saving grace is the inevitable hangover I am avoiding - Scotch really ruins the day after for me

. Still, we wish you all the best working on your private hangover!

Have a great time, and let us know how it went.

RustyOne bottle of 15 year old Longmorn Single Malt OTW!
Anyone bringing the Daiquiri machine for Ray?

17 December 2004, 03:30
phurley5I will be attending and will bringing the best of Kentucky Bourbon, Woodford Reserve just in case there is someone there that has never partook of that wonderful Elixir of the soul that for many years only Kentuckians were aware of. Known only as the "Recipe" for years, it has now coming out into the light of day and being exposed to the rest of the world. Pierr'e has been exposed and in fact may be a convert, I will bring part of my private stash to promote world peace amongst "AR nuts". The thought just occured to me that I should also bring a touch of "shine" that Kentucky is also famous for, no labels of course, hope the feds are not at airports. A forwarning, moderation is the key. See you there.

PWN375Judge,
Me and my brother, BWN300WIN, will be attending for at least Saturday unless we can seak away from the office early Friday. He needs a ton of advise for his elephant hunt in May. I will have a bottle of Rusty's favorite, a bottle I owe 450NE for the one I damn near drained during our pig hunt last spring and an extra of Scottish holy water just for fun. I will bring a bit of Oklahoma biltong for the brave. See all of you there.
Cheers,
Perry

JudgeG30ott6:
I think that Ann drinks that stuff in the bottle that looks like a green, mini-gas cylinder... but assuming that she's coming, and she was pricing tickets this morning, I'm sure she'll drink what you bring!
Rich:
Jamisons will be there!

DrScottBoth of these stores are supposed to have a good selection of scotch but I have not been to them. The Centennial store is sort of on the way off of I35 north of the hotel. The Sigel's is a mile or two south of the hotel. I will be working at the convention all day on Friday doing various things for the club and can run you down to the store and load up the pickup truck if the cab driver won't help you. Let me know if you want my help and I will email my cell number to you.

JudgeGScott:
That would be very much appreciated! Last year, getting to a "good" liquor store was a hassle and we had to wade through the Mad Dog 20/20 and guys trading food stamps to find anything worth drinking.
I'll try to find you about lunchtime on Friday?
E-mail me with contact info, please. Address is at my profile.
17 December 2004, 08:41
AtkinsonOK, Ernest I'll bring your damn dog back, you like peppered or Teriyaki dog jerky?
All should beware of some of these guys taste in liquer, they drink that expensive stuff made in Scotland that taste like a cross between Pete moss and Kerosine...then light up a $100 cigar that will certainly give birth to a turd before the night is over!
Doesn't anyone drink rot gut whiskey and Boonesfarm wine anymore? how about Tequilla, 2004 was a good year! Missisippi crooks were good back when, but I don't know if anyone makes them anymore and they were 15 cents, but I don't smoke so what the heck, I'll bring a bandana and look like a bank robber so I can survive the smoke.
Supper will be at Papados for the best Cajun in the whole of the USA...I suspect...

fla3006"bringing the best of Kentucky Bourbon, Woodford Reserve just in case"
Went out at lunch and bought a fifth. Expensive, but good from what I sipped. I'll bring it if there's any left, which I doubt.
