Yes that is the shirt the zip pockets are great for money etc.
I have them in long and short sleve.
The shorts are from carhartt and the gaitors from Boyt, shoes from courteney

Very true, especially about the "rainbow" colored trackers! Doesn't mean one should come hunting with a red shirt and yellow pants??? I personally make them remove such colored items of clothing if i'm running the show - I find them "distracting"

Take both green and khaki. You will soon find out the dark colors are hellish hot, making the Selous worse yet. Take shorts too, as not every blade of grass is covered with tsetse. That way you have it covered.

Some guys go looking like commandos while at the same time the trackers are wearing white hats, red coats, etc.

I've found that most African game isn't that spooky, and react more to motion than what color you might be.

I like Carhartt pants they are indestructible Filson also makes some nice durable cloths.
The colour depends on how the veld is looking on this picture I have the same colour as the grass.
The shirt is from cabelas they have some great stuff as well. The hat is from Columbia/Cabelas

After a couple washings beige/khaki is just as much of a beacon as white. Darker colours also attract heat, but as Bwanamitch says, sweat/flies are better than spooked 45 inch bulls!

Looks like Ray is in the olive/denim camp whilst Pierre prefers khaki

I think the darker color everyone is talking about is called "taupe". At least that is what Filson calls it. And I do like the darker color. A light "moss green" would also be a good color. I would suggest long sleeves - roll them up if you get hot. If you have ever noticed, light skinned people in hot arid regions always wear lots of clothes. Even the the American Southwest, ranchers and farmers wear long sleeved white shirts year-round. If the humidity is low enough, evaporation off the light-weight cotton has a tremendous cooling effect. Also get a broad-brimmed straw or cotton hat to keep from burning your nose and ears.

Khaki scaring game is from reading too many books, or making assumption it is the same as white.. Khaki the same color as dead grass,dead grass prevails in Tanzania and most of Africa, notice all the PHs pictured in this thread are wearing Khaki...and yes I was wearing a green shirt that day, it just happened I had some green shirts because I had hunted RSA prior to my Tanzania hunt...I was wishing I had Khaki on that trip..Ask Saeed who got eaten alive by Tetsis last year...yours truly....roughly 200 bites, but that was my fault..

Either dark or light Khaki will work, and it is not white, white will spook game if the light hits it right and you get a flag (flash) which is a warning sign in the animal kingdom....

Be advised under the best of conditions in the Selous, you will feed a lot of your blood to several villages of Tetsi flies, its a given...

I don't understand what all the worry is. You can wear screaming ass orange if you want and not get bitten by any flies IF you will just purchase and wear a Shannon Bug Tamer Jacket (and pants and gloves too if you want them)....I sell them and so do others . I wore mine in TZ for 21 Days and suffered few bites except on my ankles where they got above me socks under my jeans.
The Shannon Bug Tamer Jacket is one of the most important things in my hunting clothes period. I wear it hunting deer and turkey in Texas and anyplace I need camo or bug protection in Africa and NO it is not too hot to wear. Once you see how it is made you will understand whey.

The Cabela's "SERENGETI" long sleeve safari shirt, and Wranglers, with good comforatble shoes. I always take a pair of shorts, as well. I buy the "TALL" in the shirt, because it has a long tail, and will stay tucked into your pants, no matter what hunting position you get into! The sleves have button tabs to hold the sleevs up when you role them up. I have a couple of these shirts that are 15 years old, and would still serve, if I could get my belly into them.

I like the Courtney "HUNTER" better than the Selouse, but the Safaris are OK as well. I have a pair of short gaiters made from tanned HAIR ON Eland hide, that work like a charm, and are silent, as death!

Like Ray, I don't care for the very white kaki, but prefere the little darker British tan, but find no problem with the Olive in the Serengeti shirt!

Correct again the boots are Courteney Selous and they are great. Very silent and comfortable for long walks I did not even wear mine in before going to Africa and they stayed on my feet for 16 days, I even slept with then
If you need to cross water a pair of TEVA sandals are great to have in the backpack/on the vehicle

And the best hat you can wear is a Tilley T3....you pick the shade - Khaki or Olive.
