larryshoresCITES PERMIT FOR CROC
I was under the impression that a CITES permit was required to import a croc from Zim. The company doing the packing//shipping says no.
Does anyone know?

Tim HeraldLarry, not sure but it may be that you need a Zim CITES permit for Zim to export but not a US permit to import from Zim. It can vary by country or origin even to our USFWS...

I think that is correct and the Cities is issued locally and is not an international issue. I am sure that the croc will be exported with out incident and besides it is the operators responsibility.
To be honest this should be addressed earlier in correspondence and stated within the contract?

Greg BrownleeYou do not need a CITES import permit to get a crocodile from Zimbabwe into the US.
You DO need a CITES
export permit to get the crocodile out of Zimbabwe.
