Alan BunnINTERPOL Environmental Crime Programme Quarterly Intelligence Report
Dear Colleagues,
The INTERPOL Environmental Crime Programme is excited to announce the release of its first ever Quarterly Intelligence Report.
The report’s primary objective is to assess the performance of INTERPOL and its member countries to share, process and submit environmental information and intelligence. The report assesses all submissions that relate to environmental fields such as pollution, wildlife, fisheries, forestry and natural resources.
The amount of intelligence transmitted to the INTERPOL Environmental Crime Programme has increased by more than 300% over the last 2 years. If the intelligence submission rate continues to grow at this level, INTERPOL will soon be able to produce state-of-the-art tactical and strategically analytical reports. The INTERPOL Environmental Crime Programme wishes to use these reports to further develop intelligence-led enforcement activities and investigations.
Only with intelligence-led enforcement will the balance of governance and effective rule of law be maintained.
The Quarterly Intelligence Report (Confidential) was released to all 188 INTERPOL National Central Bureaus on 23 May 2011.
An unrestricted version of the report for public information is available at:
