MBAMBI- Friday was a dark day for the Mpempo family who tragically lost their daughter who was killed by a crocodile at Mbambi Village in the Mpungu Constituency.

Eight-year-old Sophia Mpempo had her lower half of her body munched by the crocodile in the Kavango River on Friday at about 1400hrs.

According to police regional crime investigation coordinator for Kavango Region, Deputy Commissioner, Willie Bampton, the initial report handed to the police suggested that the girl’s entire body had been devoured by the crocodile.

However, the police managed to recover the top half of her remains, from the waist to head. Her next of kin were informed about the incident.
