JBoutfishnSaeed's 2014 Hunt
After watching "disc" 1 on my computer, I thought, hey better on the big screen. I plugged in the USB stick in to my Blue Ray player and 1080 never looked better. Problem: No Audio.
Any Ideas?

Jim,
We have a flat screen 4K TV installed on our wall here in the shooting room, and we play all films on it using a Sony BluRay player Model BDP-S5200.
It is a very small player, and we just plug the USB stick into it and get both video and audio without any problems.
In the past - a few years ago - we have had problems with some BluRay players not getting audio while using an external video source - like in your instance, using a USB.
Sometimes this can be solved by a software update, so you might wish to check with the manufacturer of your BD player.

JBoutfishnThanks Saeed, I will see what I can find! Meanwhile, back to the computer.

SaeedJim, how about connecting your computer's HDMI connection to the computer?
That is how we are doing it on our main large screen TV, as it is an old Panasonic Plasma model that has no connections for USB.

SaeedI have just discovered that playing the files through the USB is great for continuous play.
AS the files seem to follow each other as if there is no break in them.
We have kids coming to shoot, and that is why I put a TV in here, so some can watch hunting videos, while other shoot.
The shooting area is to small for all of them at the same time.

CharlesLI don't have the 2014 report yet, but I get audio and video on the 2013 usb flash drive on our little Sony Blu-Ray player. You may want to check your player's audio setup. It is possible you have to change the audio input.
Our player seems to see the files as chapters in a video so it automatically plays the next file. At first I thought it was starting to repeat the video until I realized it was the next one.

CharlesLThe picture quality is amazing. I thought when I switched from my computer to the TV it would be grainy, but it is great.
Saeed, When I first played it on the TV I used the HDMI port on my laptop. Once I realized my player had a USB port I tried it and it worked.

Glad you like the quality.
But, I have a confession to make.
I had to downgrade the footage from 4K down to 1080P Full HD.
Watching it in 4K I absolutely amazing.

GeorgeSSaeed,
Did you reduce the quality because the 4K files were too large?
George
23 November 2014, 06:42
SaeedGeorge,
That is one reason, and the other is not many people have 4K yet.
The files are almost 10 times what 1080P Full HD is.
Also, for those interested, the videos I am sending out are converted to YOUTUBE Format, at a bit rate of 8MB per second.

GeorgeSThank for the clarification, Saeed. I look forward to receiving my copy.

MacD37Just watched the first five chapters on my laptop, however I have a Sony BR player but I got the same thing the others got, no sound on the HD TV using the BL player. I haven't turned the big HD TV around to find an empty USB port because it is large and hard to get behind, but I will to see if it works that way as well.
Man the video quality is absolutely superb, on the laptop, and even better on the large HD TV.
Some good hunting and shooting in this amazing video!
Thanks again Saeed!

Mac,
I am very happy that you are enjoying our video.
Apparently some of my friends here are having the same problem as you are having. They seem to have older model TVs.
Everyone with newer models are not having any problems with sound.
One with an older laptop, which has an HDMI output, but I think it only supports Version 1.0. He has a video out but no sound too.
If you think the quality is so great, wait until you get 4K.
It is absolutely stunning.
It almost look like in 3 dimensions.

Thanks Saeed! My TV is only three years old but the Sony blueray player is about five so that may be the problem with not getting the sound, My TV is a Bravia by Sony and has usb ports in the back, and I will turn it around tomorrow and plug the flash drive into the TV and see what happens. I'm sure it will work if plugged directly into the TV instead of in the BR player.
The reason I haven't already done this is because my large digital TV is mounted in a place so that it is very hard to get to the back where the ports are located. If it works I'll just get an extension so I can plug in from the front in future!
I'm sure the 4K is amazing!
By the way what caliber is Allen's Mod 70 rifle? I like the stock on that rifle, and it seems to have a extended magazine for a couple more rounds!
Man you have taken some good buffalo so far, I'm on no seven in the first stick.

SaeedAlan's rifle is custom built by his father Roy. It is chambered for the 450 Ackley Magnum.
Yes, we had a great hunt this year, as we usually do.
Did you see the second eland hunt?
I thought I would never be able to hit it after running for so long, especially in that soft sand.
But, as Walter keeps telling me, I flinched in the right direction!
First shot hit him behind the shoulders.
Second was in his rear leg as he was running away, and the third was in the shoulders.
Alan said afterwards that all the bullets had gone in the right place.
I told him all by accident!
Walter said "as usual!"

BakesSome top footage this year. Love the extra's of the lions and vultures feeding. And old one shot Walter strikes again, nailing that impala.

Well done my friend.

eagle27Received my package in the mail all safe and sound. Superb safari, thank you for your kindness Saeed in sharing your adventures with us.
May I ask what power zoom is on the video camera just to give us an idea of the picture you are seeing through your scope? As usual with video the game often seems a long way off when the shooter is in the foreground. What power are you using on your scope for most of the longer shots?

My scope is a 2.5-8 power, and the video camera has a 20X zoom.
At close range I use the lower power, and at the longer ranges I use 8x.
We did not shoot anything at long range this year, as we got lucky.
300 yards was probably the longest distance.
