Carolina CounselZambezi Hunters PH
I am getting ready to (most likely) firm up my hunt for 2017 with Zambezi Hunters. I had wanted to hunt with Labat, but he is no longer exclusively with ZH. Can anyone make a recommendation for a PH with Zambezi Hunters? Not that you need to sell me anything, but if you could explain why you recommend that particular PH, I would be much obliged. Thanks, CC

larryshoresMost of ZH long time PH's have moved on for one reason or another. Some like Jonny and Theirry do some hunts there but do not hunt there exclusively any longer.
I know a couple of the PHs but I have never hunted with any of them nor know anyone who has.
Sorry I can't be much help.
Peter Creighton. I hunted with him two years ago. A lot of fun to hunt with, great sense of humor. We did a non-trophy ele, very safe and we had a blast. If I can work things out, I'll hunt with him soon.
Colin Vanderlinden still hunts with them I believe.
He's a super nice guy, Fit enough to walk anyone into the ground,
lots of DG experience.
IMHO you couldn't do any better than colin for a PH.
Rex Hoets PH'd for them in the past but I'm not sure how much anymore- If he was available I would also recommend him 100%- Wicked sense of humour and a veritable walking encyclopedia of the flora and fauna of zimbabwe
Thierry of course needs no recommendation from me- his reputation is well deserved and speaks for itself.
What are you planning to hunt? They (like everybody else) all have their favourites and It sorta makes sense to match up the PH's passion with your intended quarry given a choice. I think everybody enjoys it more that way...
If you want any specifics or had any questions about zambezi's areas send me a PM and I'll try and help.

A.DahlgrenI hunted with Jonny. He has a great team and hunted ZH areas a long time. If you could get him that would be my pick

Keith AtchesonMitch Riley is a very good PH working for ZH. I spent 2 weeks with him last year and he is a very qualified young man and all around nice person.

Another vote for Jonny Hulme. He was the PH on my husband's lion hunt in Chirisa back in 2000. Great work ethic and a great sense of humor.
Best of luck on your hunt.

Contact Alistair. Thierry still does some hunts for them. At least he was prepared to do an elephant hunt with me through ZH.

Carolina CounselThanks everyone. I am hunting buff and my father leopard. Any idea why they are experiencing turn over with PHs or is that just the name of the game?
I am booked to hunt there later this year with Thierry. I know at Sango there schedule is pretty full.

MANDLAZIMNothing against the current ZH PH's but if you want to hunt with Labat then why don't you? He still operates as a PH, just as an independent.
He's already had a cracker of a Leopard hunt on Sango this year!

larryshoresI agree with Brent.
Sango is a hell of a area. Theirry is a hell of a PH.

retreeverWith the lack of exportable elephant, I believe many Ph's are scrambling to get work.

safari-lawyerI'm late to the party, but I hear that Labat fellow is pretty good.
