Buzz CharltonBlue Ray VS Standard Def
Folks when I bought out my last DVD I asked what was the preferred format to watch, it been either Blue Ray or Standard def. It was overwhelmingly in favour of the SD. Am I correct in think that that has now changed and the majority of guys have Blue Ray Dvd players? cheers Buzz

PoyntmanBuzz,
Most is now Blue Ray..
Blue Ray works on most modern players. Honestly though.."regular" plays on Blue Ray and not vice versa
It's like the Old Beta vs Vhs.
Blue Ray players in the U.S. Cost nothing...dirt cheap....

MartyYou mean we can't get 4K?

SaeedNormal DVDs are standard definition.
Blue Ray is high definition.
And there is no comparison in quality between SD and 1080P High Definition.
SD looks bloody awful in comparison.
And if you go to 4K, 1080P looks awful in comparison.
Trouble is the better quality requires more storage space.
DVDs have a maximum capacity of 8.5GB.
BR have 50GB.

MartyI don't think there has been an SD television sold in more than 10 years. Why would we be even thinking about trying to run SD material through a high def TV? To save $65 on a new player?
It's like running nitro-for black loads through a nitro proof gun. To prove a point, I guess.

Safari-HuntBuzz, For the international market the US and EU it makes sense to go over to Blu Ray however don't forget the local African market where Blu Ray disks and players are still pricey.

I always try to use enough gun but then sometimes a brainshot works just as good.

kayakerBuzz,
What about a 'no-disk' option?
I really wish more hunting films were available on-line, either as pay-per-view, rent or buy (iTunes etc.)
Thanks

lavacaAndrew,
I believe you are thinking of a blue runner, but I have no idea what the other things are that are being discussed here. How do I get these things? And do I even want them, given that I've happily lived without them for over half a century?

The Blue Ray is a member of the South African stingray family and is the most commonly caught 'flatfish' along South Africa's coastline.
It is unadvisable to have this thing anywhere your laptop or other electrical devises.
