tysuePaul Grobler has died
Paul Grobler, one of the top prohunter and guides in Zimbabwe died this past Friday night, at his home in Australia.
Paul was born and raised in S.Rhodesia, and one of the top pro-hunters, and guides ever there. He also, in addition to prohunting, was one of, or the first "guide" there. He also owder crop farms , croc farms, a fishing fleet, and was into home building. After Mugabe came to power, he sold off a lot of his holdings and was told to LEAVE Zimbabwe. He has lived for years in Australia, with his son, and dil. His wife, Marie died a few years ago. There is a book, by Richard Harlan, out on Paul, entitled African Epic". I was one of his first hunter clients in 1972.

fairgameVery sad and Paul was a legend in hunting.
I went back and reread Richard’s book about Kambaba. What a life Paul led. Tobacco farmer, game officer, elephant hunter, culling operator, pilot, kapenta fisherman, croc farmer, safari operator . . . Would have been a neat guy to spend some time around the campfire with for sure.

I bought that book. He was quite a pioneer in the African hunting/guiding business, and an amazing person. RIP.
