twobobbwanaPity he didn't use his Searcy .600 for the picture.
I believe that Butch Searcy made a pair for the movie, plus a rubber one to throw around, and Spielberg ended up with one........had've been me I'd have kept them both.
Who knows the real story ????
14 July 2014, 23:09
Use Enough GunThat is a true story. Butch did make Spielberg a pair of real doubles for the movie, plus a rubber look alike. I have hefted the look a like at Butch's office, and I got the story on the two real ones at the same time directly from the horse's (Butch's) mouth. Spielberg kept one of the real doubles for himself. Not sure what happened with the other one. I am sure someone connected with the movie ended up with the second one.

poprivitAwww - come on …
Why hasn't anyone asked? "What's the proper caliber for a triceratops?"
Apropos of nothing whatsoever, there was a very old science fiction story about how modern day hunters could go back in time and hunt the big lizards. However, all hunters had to stay on a raised path. One hunter stepped off the pass and crushed a butterfly. When the hunting party returned to the present, the entire world had changed - and not for the good.
Second thought. Can you imagine just exactly how big ticks and blood-sucking bugs would be back in the Jurassic? Hmmmm!

Use Enough GunAnything from a 470 NE on up, as that is the minimum caliber that has been established for the Tri's. 458 Lott works great too, in bolt action.
