New guy here. First post, and all that.
Dreaming about it for YEARS,ever since reading Ruark, O'Connor, Bell and Capstick, et. al.
For Afrian plains game, with Kudu and Zebra being the largest animals, plus warthog and miscellaneous antelope, What caliber? Arthritis, nerve damage preclude a big boomer.
I'm thinking the 30-06/165 gr. Partition, 2-7 X.
Would that be sufficient to extinguish a Leopard?

FjoldYes to all, maybe a softer bullet for the leopard.

Use Enough GunNothing wrong with what you have described. Just remember to put your shots in the right place.

ivan carterperfect , in fact your favourite deer gun and load works for almost all plains game

TerryRFor plains game you are well armed with your 30-06. I prefer a 180gr bullet, but I'm sure that your load would work fine.
Regarding Leopard, I've never hunted Mr Spots so I'll leave that to others with relevant experience, but be advised that some Countries list 375 H&H as the minimum for legally hunting dangerous game.

retreeverGood shooting is more important then the bullet in my opinion for plains game... As for chui precise shooting is called for..

Wendell ReichEven a .308 with that same weight bullet would suffice.
