bullsprigbow hunt sable
Does anyone know a Safari company that would bow hunt for sable? Preferably not high fence.
I have a friend who is new to Africa who would be interested.

T.CarrThis guy does a lot of bowhunting in Zim, but it will be on the fenced Cawston Ranch. Haven't hunted with him, so you will need to check references. I understand they have a good population of sable on the property.

Ron is a booking agent in Florida, and certainly has a lot of bowhunting experience.
I can vouch for one of the operators he books for. Shangaan Hunters (they have a few properties in Zim). Contact Gordon Duncan at Shangaan Hunters.

Jerry HuffakerI hunted Cawston with a bow and can't reccommend it enough. The place is 40,000 acres and full of game. They are 100% on Sable for many years. Mine was 40". They have the largest private herd of Sable in Zimbabwe. They also have gemsbok and Redhartebeeste, which are hard to get in Zim, plus all other plains game. They also shot two leopards with a bow there this year.

MARK H. YOUNGbullsprig,
We work with Barrie Duckworth in Zim and a good part of his business is bowhunting on the Save Conservancy. 3 of his PH's are accomplished bowhunters themselves so they will understand your special needs. The Save is fenced but so vast that it is immaterial to the hunt. On Barrie's area you will never see the fence.
John DuPlooy in Zambia has both ranch and wilderness hunts for Sable. He also produces some very large sable. One of our clinets shot an honest 50" with John last year.
If you would like more details contact me anytime.

odieThis past Sunday Tom Miranda bow hunted a sable in South Africa (I'm sure that was cheap!). I don't remember the outfitter's name however but you may be able to find it on the internet.

LJSAnother vote for Cawston! If the squatters have not ruined it you will find fabulous bow hunting for sable. Plus, it is a great place to stay and enjoy the comfort of the facility and excellent food.
