Is Mozambique still a mess?
A friend and gunwriter who worked there for several years as a missionary for Iris Global sent a story on recent Islamic State attacks in Cabo Delgado and Nampula provinces describing church burnings and more than 30 beheadings of Christians.
I thought things had settled down in Moz. Apparently not.

Recently returned from Coutada 11 in the south of Moz, no issues in that area. This area is a long way from where these attacks occurred.

Is there any quota on those animals?

The north is not good.

They are not anchored by a ball and chain and will choose whichever target appears less guarded or relaxed.

Bill,

Think about Mozambique like this. I've booked Coutada 9,10 and 14 for years and hunted 9,10 and 11. There have been no security issues there. All south of the Zambesi seems to be very quiet.

I know of several successful safaris with Mashambanzou in Niassa including buffalo and leopard. 2 upcoming lion hunts.

Safrique took a good lion in Niassa.

Luwire has taken 2 leopards and 1 lion with a busy finish coming.

Note these operators are on the western side of the reserve, which is opposite of the attacks in the east.

I have not heard of any hunts with Kambako

We stopped at Isla de Mocambique on the coast on our Circle Africa cruise in January. There were shore excursions into Biera by both short flight and road trips from 2 ports.
We did NOT call in Mombassa, Kenya due to political situation there!!

My friend was based up north out of Pemba.
