blacklechweNiassa Reserve - Moz
I have been reading a great deal about classical safari's in the Niassa Reserve, Mozambique. Was at SCI and the buzz on the floor echoed the same. I hear that the hunting is hard but the experience and number of big Lion, Leopard and Elephant are amazingly good. Anybody been?

jdollarhaven't been to this area but i have hunted Moz twice( along Cahorra Basso and the Zambezi Delta). and yes, in general where i hunted seemed a lot like i imagine old Africa to be- scattered villages and miles of untouched bush!

universalmanI have hunted Mozambique twice. Once on Lake Cahorra Bassa and once near the Niassa reserve with Kambako Safaris.
http://www.kambakosafaris.com/It was truly an awesome wild experience around the Niassa. Numerous leopards. They strive to take 6 year old lions and do well at that. Very little human habitation. No shortage of Tsi Flies. Would go back in an instant when elephant ivory is importable for us yanks from Moz. If memory serves me correctly I believe legal ivory is 55# or 60#'s. Hope I live long enough to see the day.

Tim HeraldI am also booked with Kambako in 2011 and 2012. I have heard nothing but rave reviews, and I am really looking forward to the experience.
