gunslinger55Ex Officio bug repellant clothes
Wondering how they work I guess they are pre treated with permethrin. How do they hold up in the bush? Shirts and pants etc?
Thanks

gunslinger55Thanks. I have some regular exofficio stuff and they can't be described as "robust". I am guessing they will get torn up but I will try some if I can find any...

LionHunterThese have been around for a number of years (+/-10) now and I have never heard any complaints. A few years back I bought some of their socks with the impregnated repellant and they seem to work as well as what I treat with permethrin myself.

meteI guess you've missed my recent posting !

There is new technology here. While it is permethrin it must be modified as it actually bonds to the cotton fiber [fibre !]. It's now also found in insecticides used in diners , stores etc. It will last far longer than DIY treatment .

BTW a search of the sciencedaily site will show many ways they are trying to deal with malaria.

gunslinger55Yes that is true but at $100 a piece it is hard for 2 people to get outfitted when you can buy the spray. I may get 1 outfit each and test it out. Starting another thread on quantities of permethrin and deet spray for a 2 week trip to swamp for 2 people...
