Dago RedHemp safar clothing?
Curious, I know it is hard enough to find regular clothing made from hemp, but is it possible to find any safari clothing made from it? I know the fibers are longer than cottong so the fabric is more durable and has better life. I have one nice hemp t-shirt that is much more comfortable than my cotton shirts. I have a sampling from a textile supplier that has different weights and weaves of hemp cloth and some seem like they would be great for safari clothes.
my wife sews some so I go the fabric samples thinking I could get some patterns for shirts/jackets I'd want and get her to make them for me. fat chance.

Red
Gives a whole new meaning to the term "smoking jacket."

kayakerDago Red,
I have two kakhi hemp shirts that I bought from a store in George, RSA. I wouldn't call them 'safari' shirts
per se but are great for bush wear and very comfortable and durable.
Most folks don't seem to know that 'smoking' hemp would have no effect what so ever other getting you laughed at, as it contains no THC and hemp is actually the leaves/stems of the plants, not the infloresence and hemp is both male and female Cannabis plants, as opposed to marijuana, which comes only from females (preferably in the absence of males), hence many alleged 'dope growers' are not in favour of hemp farming close to their operations! Its two different things, other than the misinterpertation of the word 'hemp' as meaning some kind of drug, which is of course bull...Henry Ford grew hemp in experiementing with bio-fuels...
I think hemp safaris clothing would be great, less crap sparyed on it that most cotton and cheaper that organic cottons, especially from brands like Patagonia.

mehulkamdarAbercrombie and Fitch, Gap and Tommy Hilfiger have all imported clothing made from hemp, jute and other "green" fabrics into the USA. I know the company in India that makes this clothing for them. PM me if you want me to find anything out - I could check and get the information for you.

Hemp can also be made into fine clothes as well.
