Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Brett,

Can't you just cut a few more ice blocks and extend the igloo out a bit to give you some more room?

Or do you have proper civilised buildings out there! rotflmo

Last year I saw one about the size of the second elephant in Kruger Nat'l. Park. It chased our vehicle & gave us a little excitement. My guess is Kruger.

No Steve we can't move into the igloos until the snow gets rolling!!!

Bwanamich,

My guess is Mozambique or Western Tanzania from the looks of the terrain. And since it's you my guess is Western Tanzania. To further it down my guess is Ugalla or Kizigo.

Talking about eles....
I got news that PH NIgel Archer got tusked by a cow ele in Kilombero yesterday. He is doing fine and was EXTREMELY LUCKY!!

He and client were hunting puku and at the shot, a cow and young calf came charging out the bush and ran him over. Not quite sure of the details over the next few minutes suffice to say he got tusked through his left buttocks, leaving his buttock muscle hanging by the skin! No nerve damage, no artery damage. He has been stitched up in Dar and might be off to SA for further specialized treatment Cool

As I said EXTREMELY LUCKY !

Sorry to hear the bad news but as you say, he was very lucky indeed to get away with just the damage he did.

I guess he'll have to resign himself to being known as Silly Arse or maybe Half Arsed Archer from now on. rotflmo

Mick I have to admit, I did see one in the Selous that would rival that guy. Just a glimpse but he headed the wrong way... I will be back in 3 years for him...
