I've said it for years but what hunters using the SGR need is a scheduled air service buzzing around the reserve on a pick up/drop off service with prices based on a seat price like happens in the northern safari circuit instead of a whole bunch of separate charter companies.
The reason it hasn't happened is at least partly that the SGR more or less closes down for a significant part of the year and it'd be a lot harder to close down a larger operation such as I've suggested....... but the more alarming thing is a large part of this won't matter if the Steigler's Dam project ever happens as it very well might because if/when it happens, a large part of the SGR will be stuffed anyway and that in turn, begs the question of why are so many interested parties so studiously ignoring that possibility?
