Who owns Chewore North?

GanyanaWho owns Chewore North?
Ans= Billy Rautenbach
I suspect he could be spending alot more time away from his Harare Home in the near future

The extract below is from the Star (newspaper)
Fugitive businessman Billy Rautenbach's days as a free man may soon be over
if the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has its way. The Scorpions have
applied to the Zimbabwean attorney-general for Rautenbach's extradition. He
has managed to elude authorities for the past six years while hiding in the
Democratic Republic of Congo and Zimbabwe - apparently under the protection
of President Robert Mugabe's inner circle. Rautenbach fled South Africa in
1999 when the net started closing in on him, following the issuing of a
warrant for his arrest on charges of fraud, corruption and theft relating to
his control of the South African arm of the Hyundai Motor Corporation.
Scorpions boss Leonard McCarthy told the justice portfolio committee this
week that they had tied up their investigations against Rautenbach - a
Zimbabwean citizen - and had applied for his extradition on March 27. He
faces a host of charges, including 58 for fraud, 326 for theft, two for
corruption, two for conspiracy to commit fraud, one for money-laundering,
and one for reckless trading in terms of the Companies Act.

Fulldraw Outdoor MediaGanyana,
What, if any, effect would his arrest have on the safaris booked in Chewore North in your opinion?

Wendell ReichRautenbach's association with Mugabe (real or perceived) can not be a good thing for the American planning to hunt in Chewore North.
Is Rautenbach on "the list"?

To the best of my knowledge, the current version of the list of Specially-Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons is available
here, but do your own due diligence and do not consider this as legal advice.
Caveat Emptor. Do your own due diligence. Trust but verify. Obejcts in mirror are closer than they appear.
Billy has been in "trouble" for a long time it seems.
What is the Star? A Zim or SA paper?
The Zim papers are to be believed one day and not the next?
The extradition was dated a month and a half ago? So what's new?

Do they expect everyone to troll through that entire list before they book a hunt? - What a joke!
What company(s) hunts Chewore North? I heard it's hunting rights were bought by a African (Black) group who could not come up with the money and they sublet it back to the company(s) who had it before?
Any truth to this?

Don HeathBilly is not on the US banned list, even if he does end up in jail in south Africa (which I doubt- every man is inocent until proven broke).
He has handed over the bookings and camp management to chifuti and his old crew of Ian Gibson and Andy Hunter anyway. He just requires some of the quota and exclusive use of the camp for his holidays.
Ledvm- Yes a "new" entrant to the safari industry bought Chewore North at the auction and then couldn't pay- same as the last two auctions in Matetsi. When he failed to pay- it was offered to the second highest bidder- Rautenbach (Big Five Safaris), but the way our inflation runs and currency de-values in the three months that the legal wrangling took, billy got the area at half price (which was still expensive!)
