Gail,

Thanks. I'll be sure to watch.

Now, if I may be so bold, please ask your father to write down his memoirs. Do more than ask, please pressure him! Big Grin

If he is concerned about the degree of effort involved - and who wouldn't be - co-authors can be found who are really good at this kind of thing. Bill Quimby, who posts here on AR, is one of the best, IMHO.

I and many others would spend green money to read any book that the great Harry Selby would care to put down in writing. His reminiscences of Bob Ruark alone would be fascinating, I am sure. thumb

Ditto.

Unless it gets on paper it will all be forgotten.

Thanks for the TV schedule. I didn't catch it before.

I strongly agree with the other comments about a book. I would definitely buy it as would many others that I know. Advertising here alone would probably sell out a limited edition even a self-published edition.

I've seen the show with your dad and Joe. I actually have saved it on the DVR for reviewing in the future.

I also would love to have a book by Harry. The stroies he must have stored away. Would be a huge hit I'm sure.

Ditto the book, if he won't do that sit him in front of a video camera and just talk. His memories would be priceless.

An audio book like Finn Aagaard's would be perfect.

Can we vote twice?

I had my DVR set to record Versus but not Benelli on assignment. Drat. I'll have to remedy that.

Ahhh...I got it recorded. Thanks much for the heads up. I didn't realize he started as a mechanic for Percival. Pretty interesting as Percival represents one era and Selby the next.

Now who do you think is the next Percival/Selby? Is it Robin Hurt...Barrie Duckworth...or someone else?

I will transfere this one to DVD. It reminded me of why I shoot a 470NE and 375H&H thumb and have no interest in a 375 Ruger thumbdown

And then maybe I am just an "old guy" wishing for a time that was and will never be. beer

A favor anyone? I cannot receive TV where I live, my mountain blocks satellite and cable won't come up the road... Frowner

Would someone be willing to copy me a DVD and send?

Gail,

Fascinating look at the scope of safari hunting.

Strongly urge that the family sit down with dad over several weeks and tape hours and hours of his remembrances. Then he and a decent writer can turn out a book.

Tim
