MartytWWTK: Source for WOMEN's Safari Grade clothing
I realize it might sound like a strange request (or not).... I have all the gear I need for myself, between Uncle Sam and Orvis, however, we are finding that items like Bush shirts, etc OF FIELD GRADE AND NOT SOME DOLLED UP DOLCE & GABANA VERSION are next to impossible to find in Women's/Petite sizes.
My better half is not the type who wishes to stay at base camp and read a book, she wants in on the action and wants clothing to match the type of hunting she plans to do (this is a woman who carries a Ruger Security Six 2" in .357 Mag because "that Walther PPK is too light and I hate semi-autos", who is Scuba and FreeFall qualified and wanted an old Jeep CJ-7 as an engagement present (not some "useless diamond" ...)
Anyway, if you know of sources for women's field gear, we would be quite obliged (Orvis had it, but as of late all we find on the website is flowery dresses and sweaters ...)
Many thanks in advance also on behalf of the Mrs.

gotogirl3Long Grass Outfitters is great! I really have a problem finding clothes because evidently whoever makes them thinks there are no females of size 2 or 4 petite who enjoy hunting and the outdoors. Melody at Long Grass has been absolutely wonderful in working with me for some smaller sizes, while also handling larger sizes. I also like some of Timberland's clothes.
Good Luck! Shannon
My wife has the same problem. One place nobody mentioned yet is
Woolrich. They still make excellent bush clothing and vests. Good quality, and unlike Columbia, not politically aligned with folks who want to take away our guns.

SpringHere's an article just for women on
"How to Look Fabulous in the Bush." The article gives women tips on what to pack for their safari.
Don't get your wife looking
too good however... You may not want to leave her behind in camp!
