elmoReno SCI AR Members meet at the Barnes Booth
About 20 AR people showed up and a good time was had by all. I didn't get a chance to talk to all the folks but I met N'gagi, Christer and his buddy, GaHunter, Bob from GA, Eric Ching who demonstrated his great sling, Russ (Blacktailer) from CA, Steve from OR, Terry, Carmelo, Kathi whom I need to talk with at a greater length in the near future, and last but not least Mims. It's easy to see why everybody likes Mims.
The award for "Person most missed, that everyone would have liked to meet" goes to.......
Judge G
But then someone said he couldn't make it 'cuz he was still trying to shake off that hangover from Dallas

JudgeGI'm not sure what kind of hangover you folks have, but it's Sunday morning and after church, 1115, Mbogo375, Jorge and I (JudgeG) are going to meet down near the GA/FA border at 1115's great tree farm and shoot double rifles at a few wild hogs.
Then.... we'll eat the very best barbequed ribs in the world, prepared by 1115. After a slab or two, we'll raise a glass and toast all you poor folks, still trying to catch planes hither and yon in crowed airports that are all screwed up by the ice storms.
We don't need no stinkin' SCI!

JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

HarryThank you Elmo for the kind compliment.
What a heck of a turn out at the Barnes Booth (or should I say blocking the Barnes booth??
It was great to put faces with names and to meet others I had not met before.
Many of you came by the Tuffpak booth and said Howdy...that too appreciated.
I did not get to see much of the show as we were so busy plus I had a knee that decided to act up for a day so I was even more gimpy than usual.
The AR bunch is getting so big we may have to have our own booth at these events just so we have a place to sit and tell more lies to each other!
After doing three safari club conventions in one month I think I am through for the year.
It too got to go to the custom stockmaker / engravers guild show thanks to the extended hours they had Fri. night. I wore out my "Golly" finger pointing out all the beautiful workmanship. A gun nut going in there best take a large "bank" with him. You would have no problem dropping some large money in there in a hurry.
Great so see so many AR members and I hope we can do it all again soon. Good hunting and fun shooting.
Better tomorrows,
Mims
You can borrow money but you can not borrow time. Go hunting with your family.

carmelolisciottoMy SCI highlights were meeting all the AR guys on Friday...
partying with CChunter and my main man OWE!!!
Meeting General Schwarzkopf
Having Craig Boddington tell me he's visited the WorldShooter.com Website.
And for kicks.... had a 2 hour conversation with Doug Turnbull on the Marlin action and it's ability to handle well over 70,000 psi with no probs.... (just had to add that in)
All and all it was a great time!
The AR guys were great. Some pics below:

SteveIt was great fun to meet you all. About 7 of us met for dinner that evening as well.
Had a great time. CC and his side kick were a hoot.
We've decided that Saeed needs to attend next year.
If nothing else, he'd have more opportunities pester and tease Roy Vincent.
I got to fondle Allen's Echols' 338 at SCI and the Third Ultimate Enfield
at the Guild show. Oh yeah, booked a buff hunt and got leads on a muley hunt.
Looking forward to seeing the group photos.

500grainsCarmelo,
Why are you baring your teeth at Schwarzkopf and Boddington?
31 January 2005, 05:25
carmelolisciottoBaring my teeth?
I wouldn't call it that. A lame excuse for a smile maybe but teeth baring? Nahhh.

Wonderful pictures as well, it must have been a priviledge to be in the pic with the General and also Craig ... both come with very good experience and long pedigrees

TerryRIt was great to meet all of you who showed up at the Barnes booth. I had a great time at the show, but the highlight was putting names to faces. Hopefully we can meet again.
