My answer is a definite NO!

Anyone willing to prove me wrong will have to invite me on the lion hunt (free of course) and convince me that I am wrong.

seriously though, I have yet to see an outfitter advertising a truly "wild" lion hunt in SA in any hunting literature or web site! Of course, they don't advertise the hunt is "canned" but one just has to look at the photos and hear the details of the hunt to know it wasn't "wild". With the high demand for lion hunting, any legit lion hunt in SA would be on the market and well advertised - that is undeniable.

There is quite a well known outfitter in SA that has a concession bordering onto Bots. I have heard of 5-7 clients that hunted there recount their lion hunt and guess what? The stories are all the same;

"I was on a plains game hunt but whilst there we got a report that a huge male lion had "wandered" across the border from Bots and was causing havoc at the nearby village and that if i wanted I could hunt it for only trophy fees. I did and shot this huge, (immaculately groomed )PAC lion you see on this photo. And i am so proud of it"

Ray the problem with that is that "canned hunting" provides too much ammo for the anti's and this could lead to the closure of hunitng lion (or other species) in the long run. Maybe not in your lifetime but I still plan on hunting for many more decades
