How to hunt caracal (lynx)
The caracal (lynx) is an interesting animal. I would really like to "collect" one on my next hunt.
How do you normally hunt them? They`re only active during the night, right?
Is it possible to hunt them in a sporting way (no flashlight on a car)..?
In areas where they are present, are they present in big numbers? Or do "dominant" males aquire large areas, so that the population is wide-spread?

Any comment is appreciated...

I know that they are often hunted with dogs. Calling may also be an option although I'd be careful what you call in- a suprise leopard visit may not be what you're looking for. The method of hunting such animals can vary quite a bit depending on the region.

I've known guys that called them with predator calls after dark. In fact, one guy killed a Caracal one night and a Serval Cat the next night, on a field just outside Pretoria, RSA. I've seen videos of dog hunts in the Cape area.

Don't you need a CITIES permit to bring them back to the USA?

As already mentioned, hounds or preditor calls. I bet a hound hunt would be a lot of fun.
