Old Safari Pictures-Kenya
I ran across some pictures the other day while cleaning out some old boxes. They are pictures of My ex wifes father who hunted Kenya the last season they were open. Early 70s? Though you guys may enjoy these.

Cool pics. He had some beautiful rifles, didn't he?

I like the up front poses with the animals - don't see that much any more.

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

Those pictures are mighty fine, thanks for sharing them. I wonder who the PH/operator was? Bet we could find out.

Could the PH be Finn Argaard (?), there is something Scandinavian/Norwegian in the countenance IMHO.

I am not sure who the PH was or exactly where he hunted. These pictures are from about 1972. My Father in law past away in the mid 70's just a few years after these pictures were taken. I never did meet him.

It would be interesting to find out who the PH was.

Here is a comparison of a known photo of Agaard on the left and the unknown hunter from above on the right. While there are some similarities, close examination I think will show they are not the same man.

Chin, nose and brow appear close but the hair style - although Finn seems in need of a trim - are markedly different and look closely at the ears, here is a considerable difference.

Can't be Finn. You'll never find a photo of him with his hair in order!

Those are some wonderful and fascinating photos! Thanks for sharing. Smiler
Didn`t Kenya close as late as 1978-79?
I thought I remember reading something about an earlier closeure, then reopening for a few years, then another closeure that has kept on.. Not sure..
