Um... they better take another look! that's a pretty fresh head! The meat and whatnot are still red. because the eyes are gone they think it's rotting?! what do they think gets eaten first?!

For what it's worth, I agree.
Even the facial hair that's left does not appear to be from a decaying animal.

fujotupuJudging by the remaining fur and blood smears it couldn't be more than a day old at most.
