shakariFor all you Africaphiles - Masai hunting dog!
This isn't what most of you will be expecting.

I've often seen hunters with Masai beadwork on their person or in their trophy room but I've never seen a gundog with a fine Masai beadwork collar before.
Ladies & Gentlemen:
Heeeeeeeeeer's Lola the Lab!
With thanks to DDRHOOK for his kindness in sending matching belt, collar & hatband!

Funny you should mention that..... I've got some in what will become my gunroom but didn't think of it!

Mind you....... HTF do you get a Lab to pose with a Masai spear?

Not a chance..... Hook is & always will be a dedicated pig man & anyway, Susan would have his guts for garters if he so much as made goo goo eyes at Lola!

Venture SouthJust tell Lola to keep her tail tucked and her teeth bared, should keep her safe

ScriptusNow you know why Don wears that big ol' hat, so that the BS his "friends" send his way is deflected. Yeah, I know that I am just as guilty, but for a change, I am throwing a straight ball.
The "DAWG" is looking good there Steve, how is the training coming along, or has Susan turned her into a house dog?

shakariMate, she's only about 10 months old so still on the early training stages of working to the whistle and retrieving an occasional training dummy from land or water. To be honest, I doubt she'll ever become the best gun dog I've ever had but she doesn't need to be & I reckon she'll turn out to be as good as I'll need.... She's got a hell of a good nose though and what she might lack in ability, she makes for in personality.
My original plan was to also get a Portuguese Pointer to go with her but I've put that on hold because of my hip problems.... All pointers need a fair bit more exercise than a Lab and right now, my hip won't stand up to those long walks I'd need to do.
