Winchester loads ammunition for the 9.3x62???
In this month's "Handloader" magazine John Barsness has an article entitled "Efficient Cartridges." In it there is a sub-article on the 9.3x62 in which he states that Winchester loads 9.3x62 ammo for the European market. Do any of you know about this ammo's makeup and how to obtain it from winchester?

I asked about that at the S.H.O.T. Show and no one at Winchester could give me a straight answer. However, the point is really moot as both Norma and Sellier & Bellot import that caliber with premium bullets into the U.S. Go to Norma's website to check it out.

They do. I had a box in hand, but the price was ridiculous! 80 per 20!!

Its loaded with Nosler Partition, so for an expensive hunting trip I would buy some boxes. Or in short time Im set up for reloading.

Winchester doesn't load it. It is made in Europe by Norma (?) and put into Winchester boxes. It is not being imported into the US at the present.

Does anyone know the place to get the best price for S&B or Norma.

For S&B, try Cheaper Than Dirt. Cobalt

sportsmansguide.com has Norma 232gr for $33.97. Graf's has Lapua 286gr for around the same price but I can't get the web site to come up just now.

I don't think S$B has 9.3x62: it wasn't listed on their website

Hi

I got it verified from the deepest forrests of Sweden. NORMA makes and loads ammo for winchester in some calibers, mostly metric cartridges. I guess any of the cheap stores would be able to get NORMA ammo or cases. I would opt for cases and roll the stuff my self. RWS, LAPUA, SAKO also makes ammo.

I would love to try the new 18,5 gram ORYX bullet.

Cheers

Don't forget PMP Pretoria metal pressing, or somthing like that, don't now haw available it is over there, but in South Africa they make pretty good ammo for the 9.3x62, used them with very good results

Results: CZ 550 FULLSTOCKED, about 20" bbl: Lapua and PMP 286 grainers will shoot within 1" and to the same POI.

Bad thing: ~ 20 shots, scope slipped forward 2 mm!!

Ill talk to my smith today.

Hermann

P.S.: S & B will make 9.3x62. So will Hirtenberg, soon.
