Due to the objections about the rifle being in the pictures, and the way it was pointing (I can assure you at no time was it loaded or pointed at me during the pictures) I have decided to delete the pictures and my post. All I wanted to do was share my trip, not be criticized.

I actually like to pose with my firearm in hand. It's part of the hunt also and people like to see it, but it's not just laying around undirected.



Nice trophies BTW, I'm sure jealous of all these guys and their trips to Africa. But I also really enjoy the photos and stories. I'll be there in 2-3 years, if there are still countries worth going to .

Yep, very nice pictures, but ... whew!! I surely hope that rifle was unloaded! I understand a .375 bullet will make a mighty big hole in a man.

I also like my rifle in the picture. I like to look back and see what rifle I was using. I can remember now, but 30 years down the road, who knows.

I am truly sorry if I offended you by my observations. Please do not feel that I meant for you to remove your photos, I enjoyed them. Also please do not feel that your input here is unwelcome or in any way questioned, hell you've shot more buffalo than me. I am really sorry and hope that you will continue to share both your photos and experiences.

Kevin you're way off base on that one. 1115 I'm glad I had the chance to see your pictures, please post more and ignore stuff like that. Sorry that I didn�t get to see your pics. I always pose with my gun if I�ve taken an animal. It�s an integral part of the trophy! If the muzzle was pointed towards the camera (?just a guess) who are we to even suspect that a brother hasn�t taken the necessary safety precautions?

We don�t need anymore "big brothers" in the world.

Heck, I was there and probably took the pictures if Pierr'e didn't. 1115 is about the most safe practitioner of the shooting arts that I know. I can assure you that his gun was unloaded and not at all pointed toward 1115, me or anyone else.



I hope Dale will show some other pictures and/or replace those. They help me remember the best parts of our safari and will encourage others to get their butts to Africa.

I always have my boom-stick in my pictures--as I get older, and my game list gets longer, I need a reminder of which rifle I used when and on what--camera angles and perspectives be damned.

I hope 1115 doesn't get mad at me, but I took the below with my camera. I got a rush just being there.... listening to the shot, the rumble of the herd galloping away, a couple of angry moans by the mortally wounded, but still angry and standing-his-own bull, shortly followed up by a follow up shot and the final death bellow, all the while tightly holding on to my .475 Nitro. As Fighting Joe Wheeler said near San Juan Hill, "Always a thrill! Always a thrill!"



1115.. a great first buffalo.. as they each and every one are.



Put up some more pics... I haven't seen them myself!!!

I guess it's just my hardheaded nature, but I wouldn't pull my hunting photos regardless of the criticism. Bow or gun, the tool used belongs in the photos; only a limp-dicked bunny hugger would complain about in the first place, and we don't really care what THEY think.

Congratulations to a great hunt! I should be delighted to se pictures of your animals, and it goes without saying that a gun belongs in such a picture.
